All San Diego Unified schools and offices will be closed Friday, February 16

and Monday, February 20 in observance of Presidents’ Day Weekend.

The holiday honors the birthdays of George Washington, the first president

of the United States of America, and Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president.

Black History Month

February is recognized each year as Black History Month, a time for honoring the contributions

made by Black Americans to the development of our culture, our community,

and our nation as a whole.

San Diego Unified is committed to uplifting the stories, achievements and voices

of Black people and educating students on the invaluable contributions, struggles

and triumphs that Black Americans have had in shaping our nation.

In celebrating the achievements of Black Americans, and recognizing

their central role in our nation's history, we encourage you to learn more by

exploring the Black History Month Resource Guide

produced by our Equity & Belonging team.

Student Absence, Tardy and Early Pick-Up

If your student is arriving late or will be absent from school, please call 619-362-3550 Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm. During non-office hours, choose option 1, and leave a detailed reason for the absence. You may also email our attendance clerk, Ms. Devin Caputo at [email protected] or fill out the Report an Absence form.

We appreciate a minimum of a half-hour advance notice to pick-up your student for an appointment. You may send a note, send an email, or call our office.  In order to minimize loss of instruction time, students will not be called to the main office until the parent arrives in the office. Plan for additional time to pick up. NO pick-up allowed if it's less than 15 minutes before the dismissal time, or during the student's lunch time. And for your child's safety, picture ID is required to release a student to an authorized or designated adult. No exception.
