What happens the first day of school?

The first day of school can be very stressful for children because they receive such a large amount of information. Please share the following information with your child. It will help make the day easier.

We are open daily for students at 7:40 a.m. Please go directly to the lunch arbor before school. The regular school breakfast is available at 7:30 a.m. Classes start daily at 8:00 a.m.

On the first day, there will be several locations where 7th and 8th grade students can find the location of their first period class. When the bell rings they will go to this class and receive their complete schedule.

All sixth grade students will report to the auditorium. They will get their schedule at this time. Their names will be read and they will follow their first period teacher to the classroom.

There are two lunch periods this year. 6th Grade lunch is 11:11 to 11:41. 7th & 8th Grade Lunch is 12:14 to 12:44. Those children who qualify for free or reduced lunch will still need to fill out paperwork, but they will receive their lunches until that paperwork is processed. Parents may wish to pack a lunch for their children for the first few days as this may be easier for a new student than purchasing lunch.

Dismissal begins at 2:50 p.m. Students must be in our PrimeTime Program or off-site by 3:00 p.m. If you are picking up your child, please plan ahead and make arrangements to pick up your child in a mutually agreed upon location. We strongly suggest the lot on the west side of the school. The front of the school is not a safe place due to the amount of traffic. Students must use the crosswalk.

The PrimeTime Program will begin on the first day of school. You may pick up a PrimeTime registration form in the school office. Only students registered in PrimeTime may attend this after school program.
