Electronic Devices

DO NOT bring personal radios (iPods, MP3 players), cameras, head sets, beepers, or video games, etc., on campus during the academic day. The staff has been instructed to pick up any of these items and to turn them over to a vice principal. Confiscated items will be returned at the discretion of the principal or designee. The second time an item is confiscated, the item will only be returned to a parent and a notation of this will be made in the student's discipline record. Pershing Middle School assumes no responsibility for any confiscated items. Lost or stolen electronic items are the students responsibility. The faculty at Pershing accepts no responsibility or obligation for the return of such items.

Cell Phone Policy: Cell phones must be turned off during school hours (including lunch and passing periods). If a student is using their phone during school time, or if it goes off during class, it will be taken away. Phones will be logged into the front office. The first time a phone is taken a parent is notified and with parent permission the student may sign and pick up the phone after school. The second time the phone is taken a parent or guardian must pick up the phone. The third time a phone is taken the student will lose the privilege of carrying it on campus. It is recommended they leave it at home; otherwise they must log it into the front office every morning and pick it up after school.
